Biography

​George Stanworth was born in 1975 in Shrewsbury, Shropshire.

He has written poetry since his school-days and edited a poetry section for his University newspaper.


More recently, George has been featured on local BBC radio stations and BBC Wales. He has also had poems published in local newspapers as well as in anthologies and magazines.

In 2014 George was a finalist in the 'Lyrics Only' section of the UK Songwriting Finalist with his lyric
'The Wonder Of My Life'.

George has performed at many open mic nights throughout the country and also at the Edinburgh Fringe.

He was also a founding member of FLIP Theatre Workshops.
 
George is also available to run School poetry workshops as he is DBS checked and previously inspired children to write amazing poetry at schools in Shropshire and Worcestershire.
