UTOPIA
Verse 1
When I’m breathing, I subscribe to you.
My eyesight has gone pay per view.
I’ve meters clicking in my head.
I’ve paid for every word I’ve said.
Verse 2

I pay a fare to walk around
and get a ticket if the sound
of rheumatism is too loud.
How has this progress been allowed?
Chorus

But this is utopia.
This is what they say.
I don’t remember it
another way.
Verse 3

I’m invoiced just for sitting down
and smiling costs more than to frown.
My memories are sold on-line.
My pain is taxed, so too my cries.
Verse 4

Our apathy throughout the years
has meant they license all our tears.
Happiness all seems a blur.
How have we let this all occur?

Chorus

But this is utopia.
This is what they say.
I don’t remember it
another way.
(another way)
Yes, this is utopia.
This is what we’re told.
We are too tired now
to be brave and bold
(to be brave and bold)
Bridge

“Everything we ever do
Is only ever done for you.
Everything we ever do
Is only ever done for you.”
Chorus

This is utopia.
This is what we’re told.
We are too tired now
to be brave and bold
(to be brave and bold.)
