RESIGNATION

The oak trees want to touch the sky, the puddles to be lakes.

The rainbow's want more colours, and the seasons want more breaks.

The clouds want to be higher, the meadows want to tour.

Everything around us always seem to want much more.

Accept my resignation, as I quit this plastic earth

I’ll return my badge then exit to a planet with self-worth.

Everything is changing, and honour doesn't care.

Accept my resignation as I’m off to live elsewhere.

All the deserts seem to need more sand to satisfy its greed,

and the weather thinks of image more than helping those in need.

The seas want to be deeper, the fishes want to soar.

Everything around us always seems to want much more.

Accept my resignation, as I quit this plastic earth

I’ll return my badge then exit to a planet with self-worth.

Everything is changing, and honour doesn't care.

Accept my resignation as I’m off to live elsewhere.

I fear the superficial seas

and every egotistic breeze.

I hate the way the damaged sky

is marketed as one big lie…

...so accept my resignation, as I quit this plastic earth

I’ll return my badge then exit to a planet with self-worth.

I won’t return for meetings where I sign in as a guest.

I’ve seen how earth promotes itself and I’m really not impressed.

Everything is changing, and honour doesn't care.

Accept my resignation as I’m off to live elsewhere.
